“Let’s see what kind of man you really are.”
Years ago, long before the curse—or the need for a curse—lived a valiant and honorable Killian Jones. Set sail to a distant land with his brother, the captain of the pre-Jolly Roger, he is on a quest for the king to bring back a magical cure in the form a plant on the island of Neverland. To get there, they must out fly rival naval ships via a sail made from the feathers of Pegasus’ wings.
True story.
Anyway, upon arriving in Neverland, the brothers run into a native boy named Peter Pan. He runs the island and the magical cure plant they search for is actually toxic. Deadly, poisonous, lethal. Take your pick in word choice. One touch of the Dream Shade plant and you’re finished.
Killian believes Peter Pan but his brother doesn’t listen. Why would the king send them on a genocide mission? That’s right. He wouldn’t.
However, when they find the plant, Killian’s brother tries to
disprove Killian’s fears of the plant. But one deadly scratch sends the brother instantly into the throes of death.
Killian cries out and Peter Pan appears. The cure is just beyond the Dream Shade bush. Waters, magical waters that preserves Neverland to its youthful state can cure Killian’s brother. The price is high, one that Killian
doesn’t question but is willing to pay—whatever it may
be.

One drink and the brother is instantly cured. They leave the island in full believe that the king meant harm by desiring the deadly plant. However, when the ship hits home waters, Killian’s brother drops dead.
Angered, Killian turns against his beliefs. How dare the king send them on such a mission that caused his brother’s death? Well, no more. From now on, he will not listen to orders from the king. From now on, he’ll be the
captain of this ship, which will be called the Jolly Roger. And from now on, they will all be pirates!
Aye, Aye, captain!

In Neverland present day, Emma and Co. are becoming increasingly worried that it may be too late for Henry. Each passing minute will create doubt in Henry, doubt that his family is not looking for him, and resolve to become a Lost Boy. If only they could get a message to him that they are looking.
Maybe catching a Lost Boy will send the necessary message. All they need is rope. Lots of rope.
David and Hook go to search for more rope, but when David collapses, Hook becomes worried that David may not have much time. They need to get David cured.
David refuses, but Hook devises a plan. There’s an old compass that may solve Neal/Baelfire’s astronomy clue, but it’s at the top of a mountain. David may not live to tell about the trek, but David isn’t concerned. Saving his grandson would be worth it.
So they men say good-bye to the women and journey up the mountain.

So they men say good-bye to the women and journey up the mountain.
At camp, the women trap a Lost Boy and Regina, against Mary Margaret’s wishes but at Emma’s request, rips out the boy’s heart. Using it as a controlling device, they get a message to Henry. Using part of a compact mirror, the women speak to Henry, giving him hope.
Overjoyed, Henry has new resolve to overcome Peter Pan’s mind games and wait for his family’s rescue.
Near the top of the mountain, Hook goes before David, willing to pull the man up so as not to strain him and cause a quicker death. But while Hook is alone, ahead on the trail, Peter Pan confronts him and offers him a deal: kill David before he dies of Dream Shade and Pan will give Hook a free ticket out of Neverland with a second pass for a companion—maybe the lovely blonde, huh, Hook?
Deal or no deal, Pan leaves Hook to ponder.
When they finally reach the top of the mountain, David takes a turn for the worst. Its then that David realizes that Hook has deceived him. Because the exact spot they are at happens to be at the spring where the magical Neverland waters flow.
Hook lays out the price for drinking the water, but David doesn’t care. He’ll drink the water even if it means having to stay in Neverland forever.
The water does its trick and the men head back down the mountain without the compass, which was never in Neverland.

When they reach camp, they tell the girls some made up story about an ambush with the Lost Boys and how
Hook saved David’s life. Emma is so grateful that she kisses Hook.
One more time: Emma kisses Hook!
Yep, and the ol’ captain is feeling mighty pleased—even if it’s a “one-time” thing.
Anyway, Peter Pan corners Hook once again and drops a bombshell. The newfound romance Hook may have with Emma could be very short-lived because Neal is alive and he’s on the island. And will Hook, who seems to be reverting back to his honorable ways, do the honorable thing and tell Emma despite the fact it may end his chances with her?
At Pan’s camp, the Lost Boys have captured an unconscious Neal and locked him in a wooden cage. String him up, they say, and hang him next to…the other one!

Burning Questions:
1) Who is the “other one”?
2) Will David ever tell his family the truth about his injury and its cure?
3) How will David leave Neverland?
4) Will Hook tell Emma about Neal? If he does, does Hook stand a chance with Emma or will she go back to Neal?
5) What is the secret to getting out of Neverland?
